| A quick release alignment pin or fastpin detent - 'a device (as a catch or spring-operated ball) for positioning and holding one part in relation to another in a manner such that the device can be released by force applied to one of the parts' The single or 2 balls being retained out by a spring or plug, the balls act to maintain the pin in the working position until a predetermined pulling force is applied to the ring. Insertion and removal is simply achieved by pushing or pulling the ring handle. No locking mechanism, these quick release pins are suitable only in a shear loading for alignment. Options
